HutSix developed a secure, agile solution for CRANAplus’ Bush Support Line (BSL), replacing paper records with a fully digital system that streamlines data entry, reporting, and compliance. This tailored system supports efficient, holistic mental health support for rural healthcare workers, enhancing responsiveness and operational clarity across CRANAplus’s mental health services.

The Challenge

CRANAplus’ Bush Support Line (BSL), a critical mental health resource for rural and remote healthcare workers, relied on paper-based documentation, which slowed reporting, complicated compliance, and limited case management capabilities.

The paper-heavy system hindered the ability to quickly process calls, roster shifts effectively, and coordinate with stakeholders during critical incidents.

The Solution

HutSix implemented a phased system redesign, adopting an Agile approach for rapid delivery. The solution includes reconfigured statistics forms, automated alerts, seamless call logging, and comprehensive reporting functionalities. The system integrates with a PBX system for in-system call handling, ensuring CRANAplus can efficiently track, report, and manage cases in real time, while also complying with security standards.

The Impact

The new system has significantly reduced the administrative load, allowing staff to focus on direct mental health support rather than paperwork. Enhanced with intuitive reporting and rostering features, the system has become a vital tool for CRANAplus, providing robust case management capabilities that improve both service delivery and compliance.

The Agile process enabled rapid feedback and continuous improvements, ensuring that CRANAplus can respond effectively to the evolving needs of their clients and stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

HutSix and CRANAplus continue to work collaboratively to refine the system, with ongoing updates designed to support CRANAplus’s expanding service offerings and evolving needs.

With this tailored system as their central operational platform, CRANAplus is better equipped than ever to provide timely, effective mental health support to healthcare workers in Australia’s most remote regions.
