HutSix partnered with the Central Australian Women’s Legal Service (CAWLS) to develop uHaven, an interactive online tool designed to help young people assess the health of their relationships.

This visually engaging, user-friendly platform empowers users with resources and guidance, supporting CAWLS’s mission to educate and prevent relationship abuse across the Central Australia and Barkly regions.

The Challenge

CAWLS wanted to create a community legal education resource tailored to young people across Central Australia and Barkly.

The goal was to empower users with knowledge to recognise and address unhealthy relationships, but reaching this diverse audience presented challenges, particularly around creating a relatable, accessible tool that could be impactful across different backgrounds and literacy levels.

The Solution

The HutSix team reviewed CAWLS’s existing data and determined that a visually driven, intuitive online quiz would be ideal for engaging young users. Working alongside our sister company bellette, HutSix crafted the uHaven brand, incorporating custom illustrations and a clean, modern design.

At the heart of the platform is an interactive “relationship health checker” quiz that guides users through behaviour examples in intimate and family relationships, helping them reflect on potential warning signs. After completing the quiz, users receive personalised resources and a service provider map tailored to their results.

The Impact

Though recently launched, uHaven is positioned to become a key resource in relationship education for young people in remote communities.

The platform’s engaging design and targeted functionality provide CAWLS with an innovative tool to support education and outreach on domestic violence and relationship health.

HutSix and CAWLS look forward to further enhancing the resource based on user feedback and emerging needs.

Continuous Improvement

As CAWLS’s educational initiatives evolve, HutSix is committed to refining uHaven, with future updates planned to expand resources and improve functionality. This ongoing collaboration ensures that uHaven remains a powerful tool in promoting healthy relationships and preventing relationship abuse across Central Australia.
